Experience across industries - I.T. (Information Technology), Construction, Manufacturing & Finance
Qualified as a CA in 1985 and since then has been in Business Operations, I T Technical and Construction Techno-Commercial roles. Has worked full time and as consultant with several organisations who are industry leaders.
Some of the leading assigments completed are:
In Real-Estate & Construction: Has Lead commercially and contractually an engagement of a 1500Cr (USD 200M) Design and Build Construction project. This is a campus with over 2.7M SqFt of construction, covering 13 Acres and is the 2nd largest campus worldwide for a global MNC. Also had oversight of construction budgeting & costs, cash flows and commercial settlements.
IT (Information Technology): I set up a Techno-Commercial contracting practice for large IT FPP (Fixed Price Projects) for a US$ 1B IT Business Unit. The unit serviced global clients and the SoWs were getting increasing complex in technical terms, SLAs and penalties. The contracts documents needed sharpening and rationalisation with a techno-commercial and quasi legal oversight.
Primed the resolution of a cross border acquisition. The dispute arose out of contractual interpretations of technical definitions. Coming to a common understanding required technical review of over 2000 SoWs / Contract documents. The potential claim was estimated to be around USD 300M.
IT - Enterprise Risk Management: I headed the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) functions for a Tier 1 IT MNCs India IT business which had the most diversified of business lines and complex types of engagements undertaken. The unit comprised 25,000 persons in hardware manufacturing, sales, software development and infrastructure support. Large deal risk management was one of the most important initiatives in my tenure, especially with the organisation undertaking several pan India deals spanning all service offerings, with upto 10 year contracts.
